Oliver Prime was born in Klagenfurt/Austria and studied telematics and network engineering. He began his musical career with guitar lessons at the age of 15. Throughout high-school he played in a rock-band and gained experience in producing and song writing for the first time. After a few years he got familiar with the realm of electronic music and has devoted himself to it ever since. He first planted his roots in the music industry with "Da Korah" on the Austrian Trance/Psy label Synergetic Records in 2003, followed by "Velvet Sunshine" a few months later. His predilection for theatrical procedures lead him to his trademark of emotional, dark-driven music. His works display the influences of progressive trance, goa as well as some aspects of techno.
Oliver is now 25 years old and considered to be the most promising trance producer among the Austrian music scene. In summer 2004 his single "Radiance" came out on Spinnin' Records in the Netherlands, which was picked up by many of the world's top DJs and directly entered the Dutch dance chart. At about the same time Oliver started a side project named "Fairychild" to express the more psychedelic edge of trance, which is also present in his DJ sets. Things really got going after his widely recognized remix of the ever famous "Netherworld" by L.S.G early 2005, which was featured on Tiësto's In Search Of Sunrise 4 and instantly put him on the map. This production as well as further remixes on the labels Joof and Anjunabeats draw on the strengths of his original productions, maintaining innovative combinations of sounds.
So far, it is just the beginning of a series of mesmeric journeys, Oliver will take us through. Stay tuned - the best is yet to come.
